From Immigrants to Advocates
When our founder moved to Canada, she left behind everything and had to start life afresh, including obtaining Canadian certifications. She went back to school to study paralegal, while her husband took a job driving a school bus. Then, COVID hit while she was pregnant, and her husband was laid off. Without Canadian certification, his options were limited to either low-skilled work or staying home. Meanwhile, she was juggling being a nanny, managing a pregnancy, attending school, and navigating the challenges of being newcomers. This experience made our founder realize how many immigrants, despite having qualifications, faced similar struggles.
The Mission
Determined to make a difference, our founder reached out to friends, communities, and career colleges to understand their challenges. She discovered a shared story of difficulty, prompting her to make educational resources more accessible and help people connect with career colleges for their passions. She also found that even Canadians felt too "old" to pursue further education, so she shared her own experience as a mature student to inspire them. Today, our founder proudly supports over 500 students, including immigrants from diverse backgrounds and Canadians seeking new opportunities.
